They are your best allies against gas and flatulence, to help you face difficult digestions and relieve stomach heaviness.
4 infusions that help you with your digestion

INFUSION FOR SMOOTH DIGESTION

This is a good herbalist formula, with tranquilizing, antispasmodic, carminative and digestive plants, to promote calm digestion, relieve nerves and combat some associated symptoms such as gastrointestinal spasms, gas accumulation, presence of more or less persistent headaches, nausea and stomach heaviness.

Ingredients:

  • 15 g marjoram
  • 15 g mint
  • 15 g verbena
  • 15 g boldo
  • 15 g poppy
  • 15 g rosemary
  • 15 g fennel

Preparation:

  1. Mix the plants on a mat or flat surface and set aside one tablespoon of the mixture for every cup of water.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil for a couple of minutes. After this time, remove it from the heat and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Strain the infusion and distribute it into the cups.
  3. You can add a pinch of rosemary or thyme honey, but it’s not essential. The flavor of mint and fennel is enough to tone down the strong tone of rosemary.

How to take it

For maximum effect, drink two cups a day, after meals. It can be a good option to replace coffee.

INFUSION AGAINST HEARTBURN AND REFLUX

This infusion is a healthy alternative to antacid medications, which are not without side effects. It combines some of the most effective medicinal plants to combat heartburn, such as licorice or sage.

  • 20 g sidertid tops
  • 20 g condurango bark

  1. Mix the different plants well. Set aside 5 grams of the mixture for each glass of water.
  2. Boil the mixture in the water for 3 minutes and let it rest for another 10 minutes.
  3. Strain and the infusion is ready to drink. You don’t need to sugarcoat it.

How to take it

You can drink three glasses a day, after the main meals.

HIBISCUS AND GINGER INFUSION TO RELIEVE HEAVINESS

This infusion combines two plants that are particularly digestible and full of flavour. You can also drink it cold, as a substitute for any soft drink, with the advantage that it does not contain sugar or additives and that it also feels good to your stomach.

Both ginger and hibiscus make this infusion very suitable for promoting digestion and for combating stomach heaviness, gastric inflammation and nausea. They are also accompanied by chamomile, another plant known for its digestive properties.

The tangerine and lemon juice reinforce the sensation of freshness, providing its vitamin C and a citrus touch that combines very well with the rest of the ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 15 g hibiscus flowers
  • 15 g ginger powder
  • 15 g chamomile
  • Half a tangerine, broken off
  • 1 cup of lemon juice
  • 500 ml water
  • A few mint or stevia leaves for garnish

Preparation (3 minutes + fridge time):

  1. In a pitcher, soak the hibiscus flowers, ginger powder, and chamomile in the cold water.
  2. Add the chopped tangerine.
  3. Keep the pitcher in the fridge for 3 to 4 hours to give it time to infuse well. Then filter this infusion and add the lemon juice.
  4. You can decorate it with some mint or stevia leaves and, if you wish, with a slice of lemon or a few wedges of tangerine.

How to take it

Have it throughout the day or to accompany your meals.

INFUSION AGAINST GAS

Many people after eating feel bloated or notice some abdominal discomfort, often from a buildup of gas. This can be due to the type of food eaten, little chewing, the consumption of drugs such as antibiotics, etc.

This infusion will make you forget about the annoying bloating of gas.

Ingredients:

  • White Pennyroyal
  • Green anise
  • Caraway
  • Lemon verbena
  • Fennel
  • Mallow
  • Orange peel

Preparation:

  1. Mix the plants equally, very well, with the help of a trowel.
  2. Separate 5g of the herb mixture per glass of water.
  3. Place the herb in a teapot and pour the freshly blanched water over it.
  4. Let the infusion sit covered for about 10 minutes and strain it.

It is important that you use the same amount of each plant in the mix, as they must all be present in the same proportion. You can mix just as much as you need to make a cup, or you can leave the mixture ready to brew more.

How to take it

Drink a cup of tea after each meal.
