Prepare at home, and in a very simple way, the drink that rejuvenates
STEP 1: PLACE THE QUINOA GRAINS IN THE MASON JAR

- Cover the grains with pure water.
- Cover the mouth of the jar with the rack or cloth and help it secure by attaching the elastic band around it or by knotting a thread or string.
- Soak the quinoa for about 8 hours to soften the grain and kick-start germination.
- Drain the water after that time.
STEP 2: LEAVE THE JAR TILTED UPSIDE DOWN FOR TWO DAYS
- During that time, soak and drain the quinoa about twice. You will see that the sprouting will come out of the beans a little.
- Rinse them one last time and add water (twice the volume of quinoa or more).
STEP 3: ALLOW 24 HOURS TO FERMENT
Strain the liquid and you’ll have your first dose of rejuvelac.
The more water you’ve put in, the softer it will be. Temperature also plays a role. With high temperature you get a stronger rejuvelac. If the temperature is low, it may take more hours to ferment.
You can repeat the operation twice with the same beans, but reduce the soaking time by half: 12 hours. Don’t forget to keep it in the fridge in a glass bottle!
Rejuvelac is a fermented beverage. The original recipe is made from sprouted wheat grains soaked in water for a certain amount of time, allowing them to ferment in water. But you can use any seed or grain, and the result with quinoa is especially good.
